This special edition features the city’s landmarks as chess pieces:

- Eustace Tilley as the King
- pigeons as Knights
- yellow cabs as Pawns
- Brooklyn Bridge arches as Rooks
- the Chrysler Building as Bishops
Each piece represents a part of New York’s vibrant character, creating a playful tribute to the city that never sleeps. The Chess Set is Illustrated by Christoph Niemann, a recurring contributor to The New Yorker.
