George Sowden, one of the founding members of Memphis, designed the PL1 Portable Lamp, as a small rechargeable lamp. It's made of painted aluminium with a silicone shade -- a material that George Sowden discovered is a great diffuser of light, and is long-lasting and easy to clean. The light has a continuous dimmer setting, controlled by pressing lightly the top of the lamp. The shade is also removable for easy cleaning. The lamp charges via the included USB cable for four hours of light at maximum brightness when fully charged.
