Unicorn Tapestry Journal
The unicorn tapestry is part of the collection of The Met Cloisters, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's medieval art museum. According to the Museum, the unicorn represents ''the beloved tamed.'' It is captive but is able to free itself at any time. The red on its coat is pomegranate juice, not blood. The pomegranate represents marriage and fertility; so do many of the plants depicted. A splendid gold-foiled and embossed reproduction of this magnificent tapestry covers this journal. Inside, 192 smooth, acid-free archival paper pages. 7.25 x 9" |
